The Maryland State Highway Administration and Anne Arundel County announce a $113.8 million project to widen miles of Interstate 97 between Maryland Route 32 in the Millersville area to U.S. 50/U.S. 301 in Annapolis. This project has been named a priority by Anne Arundel County, and the county is contributing $10.6 million toward project planning and construction. Between 94,000 and 113,400 vehicles travel along this busy interstate each day. Projections indicate that by 2044, the daily average will peak at more than 135,000 vehicles.
