Residents from Baltimore and Harford counties attended a hearing on Tuesday to protest power lines on their properties. A judge is helping decide if Baltimore Gas and Electric will be authorized to construct around 40 miles of new or upgraded transmission lines to import electricity from Pennsylvania. The plan represents the utility's solution to replace the Brandon Shores Power Plant when it retires. Customers already pay around $6 per month to keep the plant running. If the project proceeds, the $6 will become around $4 per month.
