Taiwan President Says Trump Deserves Nobel Peace Prize If He Stops China’s Aggression | N18G

Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te said US President Donald Trump should be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize, but only if he convinces China to abandon military aggression toward Taiwan. Speaking on a US conservative radio show, Lai said Trump could play a key role in persuading Chinese President Xi Jinping to ensure lasting peace in the region. His comments came ahead of a possible Trump–Xi meeting at an Asia-Pacific summit. China has not yet responded, but continues to label Lai a “separatist.” The remarks follow Israel’s earlier nomination of Trump, again putting his name in global discussion for the peace award.
