Movie Plot:
Kaamchor follows Suraj, a carefree and lazy young man who avoids work at all costs. Living with his brother and sister-in-law in Delhi, he gate-crashes a wedding and learns that the groom will live with his in-laws. Spotting an opportunity for a comfortable life, Suraj sets his sights on Geeta, the bride’s unmarried sister.
Suraj charms Geeta and wins the approval of her wealthy father, Rai Bahadur Chunilal Sanghvi, leading to their marriage. Expecting a life of leisure, Suraj is shocked when Geeta insists they live independently. As they move out, Suraj’s true colors emerge—he demands a share in his father-in-law’s estate and even considers legal action.
However, Geeta’s unwavering values and love begin to transform Suraj. Through trials and emotional confrontations, he learns the dignity of labor and the importance of self-respect. The film ends with Suraj embracing responsibility and earning his place in the family through hard work.
A remake of K. Viswanath’s Telugu film Subhodayam, Kaamchor blends social commentary with humor and romance, and features a memorable soundtrack by Rajesh Roshan, including hits like “Tujh Sang Prit Lagai Sajna” and “Jogi O Jogi”.
