After the lukewarm reception of Windows 8/8.1, Microsoft attempted to make changes for their next OS. In 2015, Windows 10 was released (because Microsoft forgot the number 9 I guess🤷♂️). With a newly designed UI, new features like Cortana & virtual desktop, and more robust security, Windows 10 was a step in the right direction for Microsoft.
On October 14, 2025, Microsoft would discontinue support for Windows 10, with options available for paid extended support.
