11 TV Hill: OBGYN's perspective on Tylenol during pregnancy

Tylenol is one of the most common pain relievers recommended to pregnant women, but the White House wants that to change over concerns the drug may be linked to autism. Some experts, though, dispute the link. While the president's announcement was anticipated, it's still creating a divide within parts of the medical community. The White House cited a study from Johns Hopkins University as one of the factors for its decision. The study published in 2019 hinted at an association between Tylenol and autism diagnoses. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said it's not changing its guidance on acetaminophen, saying it will continue to recommend the medication as a first line treatment for pregnancy pain. Dr. Tamika Auguste, an OBGYN at MedStar Health, shares her perspective.
