Residents near Gwynns Falls Parkway and North Hilton Street in Baltimore are urging city leaders to address issues with squeegeeing and panhandling. It comes amid a meeting between Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates and Gwynns Falls, Hanlon and Auchentroly Terrace residents on Wednesday to discuss their concerns and tour their communities. Neighborhood leaders have seen consistent squeegeeing and panhandling despite a previous decline following Mayor Brandon Scott's Squeegee Collaborative Initiative, with some individuals violating posted signs and occasionally becoming aggressive.
