💫 Welcome to Emerald Takes Flight – an animated proof-of-concept short set in the vibrant world of The Jewel Sisters, created by Kendall Hood. 💫

This short film is just a glimmer of the much larger story in development—a world filled with magic, mystery, and sisterhood. At the heart of it all lies Crystopolis, a prestigious boarding school where secrets run deep and danger hides behind success. Emerald Takes Flight offers a first glimpse into this universe, setting the tone for a full original anime series (which hopefully will be made someday).

✨ The Jewel Sisters began as a passion project in 2014 and has grown into a richly imagined world brought to life through bold color, heartfelt storytelling, and spiritual depth. This short is a celebration of how far it’s come—and how much more lies ahead.

Thanks to Azusa Pacific University, The Jewel Sisters has been realized in animated form for the first time—with original voice acting, an enchanting score, dazzling visuals, and a touch of real magic.
This film was made possible by a dedicated team of first-time anime-style animators who embraced the challenge of learning a new production pipeline. Their passion, growth, and friendships shaped this film as much as the story itself. We are endlessly grateful for each of them.
