How to change nappy of a newborn (girl).

Proper technique for changing nappy is very important. Particularly in girl newborn improper techniques may lead to urinary tract infection.

1. Use cloth nappies as much as possible during day time to help the baby skin breath and it would help avoiding nappy rash

2. Use cotton or soft cloth soaked in clean water to clean the baby. Avoid baby wipes, usually they contain chemical which leads to increased tendency for skin rashes.

3. While cleaning always stroke from genital region to anal region. Opposite stroke will increase the chance of urinary tract infection.

4. Always keep the umbilical cord outside of the nappy.
