A band of heavy rain pushes in this morning and through the day, moving slowly northeastwards and bringing some heavy, possibly thundery, persistent rain to much of England, Wales and Scotland. In the wake of the rain band, it will leave a legacy of showers and some drier spells later in the evening in western areas.
