Overload PAX West Demo (Weapons Explored)

System:
Clevo P150EM (Sager NP9150) 15.6" Laptop
Intel Core i7-3610QM
32GB 1600MHz DDR3 (4x8GB)
nVidia GeForce GTX 680M 4GB (Driver Version: 372.70)
Windows 10 Pro x64 (Build: 14393.187)

All in-game settings are maxed out as you can see at the start of this video. High Shadows (max setting) are used as well via pre-start config. Resolution is 1920x1080. My FPS bounce between 60 (no robots) and 30 (room full of robots, explosions, gunfire) with 45 being average. FPS did not pose an issue for me as gameplay seemed smooth.

In this video, I show Overload's variety of weapons while fighting robots in challenge mode on the Caverns map. Note, Overload is still being developed.

Notes on weapons/ship:

Boost Heat rises to 100 as you use your afterburner. If 100 is reached, your afterburner overheats and you can't use it until Boost Heat drops down to 0. You can smartly pump your afterburner to avoid overheating. Your afterburner uses energy to power itself at 3 energy per 100 boost heat. You cannot use your weapons while using afterburner, but you can use flares.

Max ammo is 400. Max energy is 200. Max armor is 200.

Order of primary weapons: Impulse (1/2 energy per fire), Cyclone (3/10 energy per fire), Reflex (1/4 energy per fire), Driller (2 ammo per fire), Flak (1 ammo per fire), and Thunderbolt (3/2 energy per uncharged fire up to 4 energy per fully charged fire).

Flak works better with closer targets. It does not seem to work at long range.
A fully charged Thunderbolt will drain your armor at 1 armor every 3 seconds.

Order of secondary weapons: Falcon (max 30), Missile Pod (max 100), Hunter (max 15), Creeper (max 50), and Devastator (max 5).

Relating to Descent weapons, Impulse is your Laser Cannon, Cyclone is like Spreadfire Cannon although it rotates slowly with triangle pattern, Reflex is your Phoenix Cannon but with one blob per shot, Driller is your Gauss Cannon, Flak is your Frag Cannon (Descent Underground), Thunderbolt is your Fusion Cannon, Falcon is your Concussion Missile, Missile Pod is a rapid fire homing missile with light tracking, Hunter is your Black Pyro dual firing Homing Missiles with strong tracking, Creeper is your Seeker Mine (Descent 3), and Devastator is like Earthshaker Missile, but the rockets that come off don't home and the missile doesn't shake the map.

All weapons except Thunderbolt can be continuously fired by holding down the appropriate fire button.

Flares are fired per button press and thus cannot be continuously fired by holding down the flare button. Flares use no energy.

Overdrive prevents you from draining ammo and energy and speeds up the rate of fire of your primary weapons. It does not affect secondary weapons. It lasts for 20 seconds.

Overload is a Descent-style game currently being developed by Revival Productions, a team led by the same people who made Descent 1-3.
