This milli naghma is an expression of love for our homeland, created by a passionate team of artists. Written by Dr. Sagheer Ahmed Sagheer, a poet and PhD Zoology professor from Rahim Yar Khan whose Urdu poetry is loved across Pakistan. The tune has been designed by my Ustad, Sir Shahid Ahmed, retired Assistant Registrar of Punjab University, who learnt classical music from legends such as Rehman Ali Rehman, Habib-ur-Rehman, and Saleem Iqbal. He continues to teach me classical singing and the art of true raag-based performance. The music has been composed by Mubashir Pubby, a respected composer and lyricist known for his work in the Pakistani music industry and associated with Pubby Films and Pubby Records.
About the Song:
"Pakistan Zindabad" is set in pure Raag Des — a Hindustani classical raga known for its romantic beauty (Shringar) and heroic spirit (Veer). Raag Des belongs to the Khamaj Thaat, is often performed in the late evening hours, and is a favorite for patriotic compositions, famously including “Vande Mataram.” Its emotive depth makes it a perfect choice to express unity, pride, and the vibrant spirit of Pakistan.
