Five soldiers were wounded at Fort Stewart in Georgia after the US Army base’s commander reported an active shooter and placed the sprawling compound on lockdown for a little more than an hour Wednesday. The soldiers were treated at the scene and transported to Winn Army Community Hospital, according to an update from Fort Stewart just before 1 p.m.
