Support for IG nominee unclear days before vote

It's unclear whether a majority of councilmembers who announced public support for Kelly Madigan will vote against confirming Khadija Walker as Baltimore County's next inspector general. In May, Baltimore County Executive Kathy Klausmeier asked Madigan to reapply for the job that Madigan has held for four years. In announcing her pick, the county executive cited Walker as having more than 22 years of high-level inspector general experience in the federal government. The intended vote tally remains incomplete on Walker's controversial nomination as the county's next inspector general, as she needs four of seven council votes.
