A band of mainly light rain, but persistent in places, will continue to work its way eastwards, across Northern Ireland, Wales and western parts of England and Scotland. The rain across the west will start to break up by the afternoon however, turning more showery, allowing for Cumulonimbus clouds to develop, bringing some heavy downbursts and perhaps even thunder and lightning.
