Thirty-five years ago, people with disabilities didn't have protections when it came to employment, transportation or even access to basic needs. The Americans with Disabilities Act, passed in 1990, changed all that. But even as federal law protects these rights, as Maynor Guillen, with the Mid-Atlantic ADA Center, explains the work is far from over.
