French First Lady Brigitte Macron and President Emmanuel Macron have filed a defamation lawsuit in a U.S. court against American influencer Candace Owens. The lawsuit targets Owens’ repeated claims — including that Brigitte Macron was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux. The Macrons allege that Owens’ eight-part podcast series, “Becoming Brigitte,” is filled with defamatory content designed to provoke, profit, and spread false narratives. Their legal team says Owens ignored multiple requests for retraction and continued promoting the theory publicly. This isn’t the first time Brigitte Macron has fought back against such rumors — in France, she previously sued two women who made similar claims.
