President Cyril Ramaphosa says the Northern Cape is an economic pioneer and a frontier of innovation. He is leading a Cabinet oversight visit to the province.
This is part of a broader national initiative to strengthen municipal capacity in line with Section 154 of the Constitution, which mandates national and provincial governments to support municipalities in managing their affairs effectively.
A report by the Auditor-General has revealed R3.6 billion in irregular expenditure by municipalities in the province during the 2023/24 period.
