A Delta pilot is being hailed a hero for narrowly avoiding a mid-air collision with a B-52 bomber. The regional flight was traveling from Minneapolis to a small North Dakota airport. As it was coming in to land, the pilot spotted the massive bomber right in his path. The bomber was doing a flyover at the nearby North Dakota State Fair. The air traffic controller, who was guiding the planes by sight, apparently didn't see how close they were.
