Superman (2025) – the film that officially launches the new DC Universe with a fresh take on the Man of Steel! Written and directed by James Gunn, this movie avoids a traditional origin story and instead focuses on Clark Kent (David Corenswet) as he balances his dual life as a journalist for the Daily Planet and the world's most powerful superhero. He is already a known figure, widely regarded as a symbol of hope. As Superman and his new allies, including Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), and Guy Gardner's Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), navigate this complex political landscape, they must uncover a deeper, more personal conspiracy masterminded by Luthor. The film explores themes of legacy, identity, and the modern immigrant experience, showing a Superman who, despite his immense power, is still vulnerable and grappling with his dual heritage. He is a flawed, human hero who embodies truth and justice in a world that has become cynical.
