Landowners raise concerns to state delegate over PSEG project

In northern Baltimore County, fears grew that a big project would destroy hundreds of Maryland properties. The proposed Piedmont Reliability Project would run high-powered transmission lines nearly 70 miles through three Maryland counties and over 400 properties. A town hall to discuss the controversial plan was held Wednesday in northern Baltimore County. Landowners are fighting in court to halt the project from moving forward. It's a back and forth in court between landowners and Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) who are trying to gain access to hundreds of properties in their most recent lawsuit for the project. The town hall was held so landowners could ask questions and get more information on the project that is set to impact over 400 properties, if it's given the green light by the Public Service Commission. The auditorium was full of concerned landowners like Weida Stoecker. Her property will be affected if the project happens. "It would destroy all of our property rights," Stoecker said. The meeting was held at Hereford High School in northern Baltimore County, one of three counties set to be impacted. The town hall was hosted by Republican Baltimore County delegate Nino Mangione.
