Police: 35 destruction of property reports in South Baltimore overnight

Baltimore Police are investigating dozens of property damage reports following the break-ins of several vehicles and businesses over the weekend. On Sunday, Baltimore police told 11 News they had roughly 35 reports of destruction of property in and around the Federal Hill neighborhood. They said roughly 13 reports for vehicle break-ins were reported along East Montgomery Street. "(Our) one car, the front passenger window was completely shattered, and then the other car, they attempted to shatter the front driver (side window)," said Amy Klein, who had two vehicles broken into overnight. "If they did take anything, it was loose change, and they left most of the loose change, so nothing of real value; it was more destruction." Police said a burglary was reported at the Italian restaurant, Facci Ristorante, on Light Street around 3:30 a.m. Officers said the front window was broken and several items inside the restaurant were stolen. About an hour or two later, officers responded to another burglary call on South Hanover Street at the Papa John's restaurant. The front glass door was shattered. "I walked in and there was just shattered glass all over the place, soda spilled over," said general manager of the South Hanover Papa John's, Alyssa Wilson. "(It's) crazy, sad, dangerous. I'm glad there was nobody here, everybody is safe, nothing was stolen, so it is a blessing."
