BULGARIA vs ITALY | HIGHLIGHTS | Men's VNL 2025. In the match between Bulgaria and Italy in the 2025 Men's Volleyball Nations League, played on June 11 in Quebec, Italy emerged victorious with a 3–1 win in sets. The match was part of Week 1, Pool 1 of the tournament. Italy controlled most of the game, except for the second set, which Bulgaria managed to win. The final set scores were 25–16, 22–25, 25–19, and 25–19.

The Italian team, led by head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, showed solid teamwork and a well-coordinated performance. Key players such as Simone Giannelli, Yuri Romanò, Mattia Bottolo, and Francesco Recine played important roles, relying on their experience and chemistry developed in previous competitions, including their 2022 World Championship title. Throughout the match, Italy demonstrated tactical maturity, a versatile attack, and strong organization in serve and reception.

On the Bulgarian side, coached by Italian Gianlorenzo Blengini (a former Italy head coach), the team put up a strong fight, especially in the second set, which they won. Their most notable players included the young talent Aleksandar Nikolov and the experienced Martin Atanasov. Despite their efforts and moments of promise, Bulgaria couldn’t withstand Italy’s pressure in the third and fourth sets.

After this win, Italy secured its first victory in the 2025 VNL, earning three points and a strong start to the tournament. Bulgaria, after two matches, had one win and one loss, earning one point from this match. In the following games, Italy is set to face Germany, France, and Argentina, while Bulgaria will go up against host nation Canada, as well as France and Germany.
