This morning will start bright for many, but this will soon change, as rain, with heavy bursts at times, moves in quite quickly from the west, bringing quite consistent rain across most of England, Wales and Northern Ireland by the time we reach the afternoon. Frequent showers will continue throughout the morning over central and northern Scotland. Winds are set to pick up quite a bit from a south-westerly direction, with gales likely across coasts, particularly across the Irish Sea and southwest England.
