The Sofia Metro is used daily by 450,000 people, which is 35% of the population of Bulgaria's capital city. One metro line transports passengers equivalent to about 10 bus lines in the city. Out of the 52 km network, 34 km were constructed with EU funds after Bulgaria became a member of the European Union in 2007. The RTS report was produced as part of the Pulse of Europe group media trip to Bulgaria.
