Baltimore City's inspector general is calling on the City Council for a new position to be added to her office. Inspector General Isabel Cumming made a pitch Friday morning during a budget hearing, saying the number of complaints her office has received has been overwhelming with more than 800 filed every year over the last four years. Cumming said the additional position will ensure further oversight, especially when it comes to specialized issues with the Baltimore City Department of Public Works. She pointed to her own office's missteps as a reason to add the position.
