From the mid-2000s to the early-2010s, Twilight was one of the dominant forces in pop culture, with Stephenie Meyer's book series a runaway bestseller that was eventually made into a movie series that dominated the YA adaptation landscape alongside The Hunger Games. The Twilight Saga movie series ran from 2008 through 2012, and nothing else from the franchise has been seen since, aside from several new books that Meyer wrote, which act more as companions or reimaginings than an actual continuation of the story.
Despite that, Twilight has remained on the periphery of pop culture, for better and for worse, but the core love for the franchise has never quite disappeared. Meyer tapped into something special with her epic love story about a human and a vampire that endures two decades after the first book was published, and the hunger for a new Twilight movie, book, or even TV series is strong.
