Authorities arrested the man wanted in connection with last year's fatal shooting of a teenager inside The Mall in Columbia, Howard County police announced Thursday afternoon. Howard County Police Chief Gregory Der said a lead received this week informed investigators that William "Junior" Thomas Marshall III, 18, was staying at an apartment in Brooklyn, New York. "During the course of the investigation, detectives have received hundreds of tips and traveled across the state trying to locate Marshall," Der said. "After investigating the information, Howard County detectives, U.S. Marshals and the NYPD went to that location last night and arrested William Marshall III." County police said officers arrested Marshall at 6:30 a.m. Thursday and that he awaits extradition back to Maryland on first-degree murder and gun charges.
