The defendant in the Joppatowne High School shooting offered mixed messaging when he took the stand Wednesday as the last witness in his defense. Jaylen Prince, 16, is charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Warren Grant, 15, in a school bathroom on Sept. 6, 2024. Prince told the jury he bought a ghost gun off the street and carried it around because he was scared. He called Grant the aggressor during their interaction in a school bathroom. Prince denied firing the fatal shot.
