The federal judge in Maryland overseeing the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case called the government's reasoning for withholding information inadequate. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis heard arguments Friday at federal court in Greenbelt over whether the Trump administration can withhold information about any diplomatic steps taken to release Abrego Garcia from a Salvadoran prison after his erroneous deportation. The judge also wanted to know more about a deal between the White House and the Salvadoran government to house deported immigrants in its jails.
