WeatherWatch head forecaster Philip Duncan will be unable to front weather videos for the rest of May following a home gardening injury that's left him with a couple dozen stitches to his nose and face.
Duncan won't be on screen for the rest of May as he recovers, however he is hoping to be back making weather videos much earlier than that - just without being on camera.
"The ladder I was on tipped in one small patch of soft soil and my nose took the brunt of the fall. Apart from feeling like an idiot, I'm not in pain and I'm grateful to Waitakere and Auckland hospitals for helping mend me so fast - but right now I have a face for radio - not one for being on video! I'm hoping we can get some sort of weather videos running next week - even if I'm just off camera with audio narration" says Duncan.
WeatherWatch and RuralWeather will continue with a daily week-day news service to keep you up to date - and all our local forecasts continue to update hourly as usual.
Thanks for your understanding - and we REALLY look forward to getting back to normal as soon as possible.
