A man died Wednesday afternoon after the car he was driving crashed into a Columbia office building. SkyTeam 11 video showed substantial damage to the building in the 9300 block of Gerwig Lane. Howard County police said officers were called around 12:04 p.m. after a car crashed into the Humanim Inc. building, which was evacuated. Police said witnesses told officers that the car was speeding and the driver appeared to have lost control around a curve. The driver's identity was not immediately released. While a cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said investigators do not believe this was an intentional act.
