A state audit discovered problems with facility management, criminal background checks, cybersecurity, overtime and more at the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. The audit by the Maryland General Assembly's Department of Legislative Services reviewed DJS from April 2020 to December 2023 and found some of the same issues repeatedly at residential service facilities. The audit found that problems persisted from year to year without a process to ensure issues were addressed.
