Copper wiring thefts are taking more Maryland athletic fields offline after dark. Last week, 11 News reported about copper wiring thefts across Anne Arundel County. Now, officials in Carroll County are scrambling to fix light structures and reschedule youth sports practices and games. Thieves recently stole copper wiring from light structures at two athletic fields. The fields are off limits after dark, and Roelke told 11 News that the Deer Park athletic field is one of at least six known locations where copper wire thefts were recently reported in Carroll County.
