How To Replace Weapons in GTA IV (GTA 4 Mods Tutorial) (2024)

OPEN IV :

My edit of the download Instructions :
-Open GTA4 root folder then \GTAIV\common\data and drag the
"WeaponInfo.xml" file in there .
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then place "WEAPONS" in GTAIV\pc\audio\Sfx\resident.rpf\RESIDENT
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then place "Health and Armor pickups " in GTAIV\pc\data\maps\props\lev_des\minigame.img\
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then replace "All Weapon PROPS" in GTAIV\pc\data\maps\props\residential\details.img\
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then replace "All guns/weapons models" in GTAIV\pc\models\cdimages\weapons.img\
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then replace "Cutscene Weapons" in GTAIV\pc\anim\cutsprops.img\
-Open OpenIV in Editor Mode then replace "Cutscene Weapons" in GTAIV\pc\anim\anim.img\

This modding tutorial is done on GTA 4 Patch 1.0.7.0. This has not been tested on any patches above 1.0.7.0 (so it could work on 1.0.8.0.). I am also not held responsible if your game breaks. I've always performed this method to install cars and it works just fine for me.
