Tucker Wetmore - What Not To | Vevo DSCVR Artists To Watch 2025

It’s easy to fall in love with country artists like Tucker Wetmore, you know, the ones who feel both new and nostalgic. His wide-mouth twang flexes the same muscles as Luke Bryan and Gary LeVox; and his debut EP, ‘Waves On A Sunset,’ paints with hip-hop and pop elements in the style of your Sam Hunts and FGLs. Born and raised in a small town in southwest Washington, young Tuck fell in love with the rollicking tunes of Jerry Lee Lewis. So he started plucking at instruments between football practices. “All self-taught, never had a lesson,” he proudly told us at his DSCVR Artists To Watch shoot. When a devastating injury derailed the state championship-winning athlete’s college career, he moved back home to focus on songwriting and music. Mom gave him the final push to take a swing and move to Nashville. Sporting a chiseled jawline, slick lyrics, and a creative approach to live performances, Wetmore has had no problem getting the ball into the endzone. “Wind Up Missin’ You’” has spent most of the year in the Top 10 of the country charts. The slowburn “Wine Into Whiskey” and trap-hat heavy “What Would You Do?” are also sporting tens of millions of streams. But that was 2024. This year he’s going for back-to-back championships, with a headlining tour in the spring, followed by his new album, ‘What Not To,’ and a support slot with Thomas Rhett in the summer. We could be in store for a Tucker Wetmore dynasty run, y’all. This understated performance of his latest project’s title track feels like a staple play.
