Retired Judge Toygar Erman cannot come to terms with the fact that his daughter has decided to wear a headscarf, despite all his objections. His anger intensifies even more when he hears that she plans to marry a young man named Halit and that they intend to work as doctors in a rural Anatolian village. Enraged, he disowns his daughter.

Years pass. One day, visitors from the village come to Toygar Erman’s house, bringing along a young girl. The girl, named Çiçek, is the last trust left behind by Semra, who had died in an accident. Still angry with her mother, Toygar initially rejects his granddaughter as well. However, over time, his anger slowly transforms into love.

But the growing bond between grandfather and granddaughter begins to worry Aylin, Toygar’s daughter-in-law. Now elderly and nearing the end of his life, Toygar’s affection for Çiçek stirs Aylin’s resentment, as she sees her as a threat to the inheritance. Eventually, Aylin devises a sinister plan to get rid of Çiçek. Knowing that the girl longs to visit her mother’s grave, Aylin hires someone to accompany her on the journey — a man who is, in fact, a contract killer.

Unaware of the truth, Çiçek sets out on the road with Haşmet, the hitman. During the journey, she often sings the spiritual hymn "Sordum Sarı Çiçeğe" (“I Asked the Yellow Flower”). Though Haşmet initially looks for the right moment to carry out his mission, Çiçek’s warmth and innocence begin to soften his heart. In her, Haşmet sees the image of his own daughter, who had fallen into a vegetative state after a stray bullet years ago.

Throughout the journey, Aylin keeps calling Haşmet, pressuring him to finish the job. Haşmet, however, is torn between the weight of his emotions and the financial desperation he finds himself in.
