The apps for TruTV , TBS , and TNT seem to have closed captioning subtitles on by default and the system wide settings for your apple tv wont turn them off. I found this solution on REDDIT thanks to the post by TH3usualsuspect at the following link and wanted to make a quick video so the solution could also be found on youtube.
