I'm an Israeli combat medic & my family survived the Nazis - but I'll save terrorists if I need to

The grandson of a Holocaust survivor has told how he gave up his "comfortable" life in the UK to join Israel's military.

Captain U, 33, served in the search and rescue unit - helping anyone who needs it, even terrorists - and is now a reservist.

He told how amid the carnage of October 7, he desperately gave instructions on how to make a tourniquet over the phone to a friend whose pal had been shot in the leg while driving his wife and baby to safety.

"As a paramedic, or any medical field, the number one rule is you help anyone, no matter who they are," he told The Sun.

"We help everyone. It's not our job to judge."

Captain U's grandfather Manfred Goldberg, born in Kassel, central ­Germany, found a safe haven in the UK after surviving the horrors of the Holocaust in which six million Jews were ­murdered.
