Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday extended condolences to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Putin said, "Esteemed Mrs President, Esteemed Mr Prime Minister, Kindly accept the sincere condolences over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, whose victims were civilians -- citizens of various countries." "This brutal crime has no justification whatsoever. We expect that its organisers and perpetrators will face deserved punishment. I would like to reiterate our commitment to further increasing cooperation with Indian partners in fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Please convey words of sincere sympathy and support to the near and dear ones of the deceased, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery of all injured," he added. Further, Denis Alipov, Russian Ambassador to India, extended deepest condolences to the people and government of India, stating that "Russia resolutely stands with India. "Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, said, "deepest condolences to the people and the Government of India over the heinous terror attack against tourists in Pahalgam. Russia resolutely stands with India." The attack, which targeted tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, took place earlier on Tuesday. However, the state government has not issued any official statement on casualties. Anti-terror operations have been launched in response to the attack on tourists in Pahalgam, and assured that the perpetrators would pay a heavy price for their actions. PM Modi took immediate action after landing in Delhi following the Pahalgam terror attack. He held a high-level briefing at the airport with NSA Doval, EAM Jaishankar, FS Misri to assess the situation. Prime Minister Modi strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
