The black bunting now drapes church doorways from the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen to downtown Baltimore's Baltimore Basilica, which signifies the time of mourning. Parishioners say Pope Francis left a mark as the first Jesuit and Latin American pontiff, while many also acknowledge a sense of uncertainty in his passing.
