Kipepeo, the 4-year-old reticulated giraffe who arrived in November at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, was not known to be pregnant. So, when keepers noticed a slight change in her behavior on March 26, they began monitoring Kipi, as she is called, who began labor and gave birth in the early morning of the March 27, the zoo announced Monday.
