President Trump speaks on tariffs, DOGE, Houthis, proxy voting, on Air Force One

President Donald Trump took questions from reporters after he landed in Miami, FL to attend the LIV Golf tournament at his luxury resort, Trump National Doral Miami.

"I think our markets are going to boom, you got to give it a little chance," Trump said. "We're taking in jobs. We're taking in industry. We're taking in trillions of dollars. I think our markets are going to boom, you got to give it a little time."

"No I haven't checked my 401K," Trump responded when asked by a reporter.

"One thing I like is interest rates going down, I see that happening." Trump said. "I like groceries going down, I like eggs going down. If you look at it, very importantly the gasoline prices are going down. A lot of good things are happening."

President Trump was also asked about DOGE and Elon Musk, specifically about when Musk may depart his administration.

"Elon is fantastic, he's a patriot," Trump said. "I think it's a shame what they're doing with his car company, a great car, a great product. Tells you what a patriot he is, he's amazing. As long as he likes, I like smart people and he's a smart person. I also like him personally, when he endorsed me that's when I really got to know him."

"I would say Elon will stay for a certain period of time and then he'll want to get back to his businesses full time," Trump said. "He's done a fantastic job. We've found hundreds, think of it, just hundreds of, in fact millions of dollars of fraud, abuse, and waste and they're still going strong."

"Well I would I think Elon is great," Trump responded when asked if he would appoint Musk to another position in the administration. "But he also has a company to run, or a number of companies to run."

President Trump added that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will remain "active" after Musk leaves his position in the administration.

President Trump was also asked about a meeting he had with political activist Laura Loomer.

"So Laura Loomer is a very good patriot, she's a very strong person," Trump said. "I saw her yesterday for a little while, she makes recommendations of things and people and sometimes I listen to those recommendations -- like I do with everybody, I listen to everybody and then I make a decision. I saw her yesterday, she was at the ceremony, she always have something to say, usually something very constructive."

"She recommended certain people for jobs," Trump said when asked about his meeting with Loomer.

"Adding? Adding to the administration? But not firing?" A reporter clarified.

"She'll recommend that too, but yesterday she recommended some people for jobs," Trump replied.

President Trump said that Loomer did not play a role in the the decision to fire multiple NSC officials.

Later in the interview, President Trump also answered questions about Iran, the Houthis, China and other topics.
