The Maryland Senate started debate Tuesday on an energy package that includes a rebate for Baltimore Gas and Electric customers. Some BGE customers shared with 11 News how they have experienced major increases in their utility bills. So, the Senate is rolling out a three-bill comprehensive energy package to include BGE rate relief. The plan is to draw $200 million from the state's Strategic Energy Investment Fund for customer rebates in the form of two payments, one scheduled during the summer peak and another during the winter peak. The starting point will be $41, and the amount will be based on usage.
