Defense attorneys representing the suspect in the killing of Rachel Morin continue to say he can't get a fair trial. Authorities arrested Victor Martinez-Hernandez in June 2024 following a nationwide manhunt on first-degree murder and rape charges connected to Morin's killing. Prosecutors said they will present evidence against Martinez-Hernandez that includes DNA, digital forensics and at least one dozen videos from doorbells, police body cameras and the defendant's recorded interview with police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after his arrest. Martinez-Hernandez's defense team argues that the pretrial publicity is so intense he can't get a fair trial. The attorneys floated remedies that included sequestering the jury for a trial that could stretch through at least April 15.
