Speaking at the Key Bridge commemoration ceremony, U.S. Coast Guard Rear Adm. Shannon Gilreath thanked leaders, community and first responders for their support to Unified Command in its response: "There's no single entity that can respond to an event like this by themselves. No entity has the authority or the resources to do this by themselves, you have to do this together, and the Unified Command represents that opportunity to do that together, and I'm so proud of that unity of effort that you displayed. You accomplished things on a timeline that no one thought was possible."
