President Donald Trump held a Cabinet meeting Monday morning, senior adviser Elon Musk attended.
Trump also responded to a question about a journalist who was mistakenly added to a group chat made up of Trump administration officials discussing attacks on the Houthis.
"I don't know anything about it, I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic. To me it's a magazine that's going out of business, I think it's not much a of a magazine," Trump said. "I know nothing about it." Several high-ranking members of Trump's administration including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Vice President JD Vance were part of the group chat on Signal. Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the Atlantic, was also added to the chat.
"I don't know anything about it, you're telling me about it for the first time," Trump added.
The Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit heared oral arguments Monday on whether a lower court can properly address the Trump administration's efforts to deport Venezuelan nationals via a 1798 wartime law.
The administration asked for a stay pending appeal shortly after an initial March 15 order was issued, calling it a "massive, unauthorized imposition on the Executive’s authority to remove dangerous aliens who pose threats to the American people."
The Trump administration had attempted to invoke a 1798 wartime authority to deport Venezuelan nationals, including alleged members of the gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), for a period of 14 days.
