Journey through Pakistan - Karakoram Highway

The Karakoram Highway is one of Pakistan’s greatest tourist attractions. The road, jointly built by Pakistan and China, is 1300 km long and runs through the most inaccessible areas in Asia. It is the highest paved international road in the world. Construction began in 1959 and was completed 20 years later. The Karakorum Highway is frequently devastated by rockslides, floods, and earthquakes. It runs along one of the branches of the ancient Silk Road.
