On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump highlighted his administration’s actions and many drastic steps since he took office six weeks ago in a speech before a joint session of the United States Congress.
Trump railed against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, declaring that under his administration America "...would be woke no longer!"
Trump also outlined his list of reasons for imposing import tariffs on Canada and Mexico, pointing to the alleged influx of fentanyl, as well as existing "trade imbalances" and what Trump described as "billions" in subsidies for both nations.
Minutes into Trump’s address, Congressman Al Green (D-Texas) was removed from the Congressional chambers by the sergeant-at-arms after he disrupted the president’s speech, highlighting what was often a fracous and tense atmosphere inside a deeply divided Congress.
