Maryland Gov. Wes Moore's third annual State of the State address focusing on three pillars that largely all have an impact on the state's economy. After announcing the new design for the replacement Francis Scott Key Bridge on Tuesday the governor expanded on his vision for the state's immediate and long-term outlook. Moore's address focused on three pillars to confront what he called is a moment of crisis: Invest in industries of the future to grow and diversify the state's economy; simplify the tax code to make it simpler, fairer and pro-growth; and invest in people. Moore said Maryland is being tested by a historic fiscal challenge with an almost $3 billion budget deficit and a new administration in Washington.
